We’re offering an exciting 6-month fixed term contract opportunity for an M&E Programme Manager to join our team and play a key role in delivering a high-performing, high-quality heating service.

You’ll lead and support a team of around 12 operatives across a defined geographical area. You’ll ensure the effective delivery of heating repairs, maintenance, and installation work, while driving performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading, coaching, and inspiring your team to deliver excellent, customer-focused services
  • Supporting delivery of heating repairs, maintenance, and installations as a qualified engineer
  • Carrying out pre- and post-work audits to ensure compliance and quality standards
  • Monitoring performance and ensuring high standards of workmanship across your team and subcontractors
  • Managing jobs or elements of work up to £25,000, including coordinating plant and resources
  • Promoting a strong health and safety culture and ensuring safe systems of work
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (Gas Safe, OFTEC, etc.)
  • Building strong relationships across teams to deliver the best outcomes for customers

What we’re looking for

You’ll be a qualified and experienced heating engineer with strong technical knowledge and a passion for delivering high-quality work.

Essential experience & qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Extensive experience in heating installation, maintenance, and testing
  • Current CCN1 Gas Safety certification
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment
  • Demonstrable experience supporting or leading teams

Additional qualifications (desirable but not essential):

  • SMSTS or site management experience
  • Gas auditing qualification
  • Unvented systems, CMDDA, COCN1
  • OFTEC / HETAS

  • Strong leadership and coaching ability
  • Ability to build high-performing, engaged teams
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • A collaborative approach with a strong customer focus

Additional requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly
  • Participation in an out-of-hours rota (if required)
  • Ability to complete DBS and relevant checks
