We’re looking for a Housing Worker to support customers living in temporary accommodation at Griffin Place. This is a fixed‑site role, based solely at Griffin Place — not a mobile position.

You’ll play a key part in helping customers manage their accommodation, understand their responsibilities, and prepare to move on to a settled home.  It’s no 9 to 5 job – you’ll need to be flexible and ready to work with your customers, when it’s right for them

You’ll have a great profile in your community and you’ll identify and get to know various agencies, groups and businesses in the local area that might help your customers achieve what they want out of life. You’ll proactively make connections between customers and these organisations and you’ll use your coaching skills to help customers make these connections for themselves.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building positive, professional relationships with customers living in temporary accommodation.
  • Helping customers understand their licence conditions, manage their rent and sustain their accommodation.
  • Completing key admin tasks, including:
    • Grant and charity support forms
    • Lettings, relets and end‑of‑licence processes
    • Raising and tracking repairs
    • Accurate documentation of conversations and actions
    • Liaising with internal teams and partner agencies
  • Using IT systems confidently to update records and manage your caseload.
  • Having clear, constructive conversations that help customers make informed choices and move towards independence.

This role does not involve support‑worker tasks such as cooking, cleaning or personal care.

Who we’re looking for

Someone who:

  • Can build rapport and communicate clearly.
  • Is organised, reliable and able to manage their own workload.
  • Is confident using IT systems and following processes.
  • Is comfortable having honest conversations and setting boundaries.
  • Has experience in roles like - though not exclusively:
    • Citizens Advice / advice services
    • Income maximisation or welfare benefits
    • Housing or tenancy management
    • Customer service involving vulnerable or complex situations
    • Charities, community organisations or case management roles
