About the Role:  As an Independent Living Scheme Officer, you’ll take the lead in managing our independent living schemes in Thornbury and surrounding areas. From ensuring communal areas are safe and welcoming, to supporting customers through regular contact, reviews, and social engagement – you’ll be at the heart of a thriving community.  You’ll also support the management of customer escalations, coordinate communal repairs, and play a role in our Placed-Based Project Pilot, working collaboratively with customers and members of other teams to find solutions that work for our customers in Thornbury.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Day-to-day management of 5 Independent Living Schemes, managing your own workload
  • Working with other teams to ensure that communal areas and facilities are in good order
  • Welcoming new customers and conducting annual Independent Living Reviews
  • Having monthly contact with all customers
  • Facilitating quarterly customer meetings
  • Report and manage any Health and Safety issues on the schemes
  • Keep accurate records, using Housing Management systems and spreadsheets
  • Promote wellbeing and reduce social isolation through activities
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to a positive team culture.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Customer-focused with a passion for delivering excellent service
  • Empathetic and resilient, able to handle challenging situations with care
  • Organised and proactive, capable of working independently
  • Tech-savvy, with experience using Microsoft Office and housing systems
  • Knowledgeable in safeguarding, equality & diversity, and health & safety

A full, clean driving licence is essential.
